Don't know:-)
It might help to clean the kernel build dir and start from scratch -
perhaps there is an inconsistency between .h, .s and .c which
"make" didn't catch.

Perhaps you already tried this, but it helped in some cases to
pull a module out and put it back - might be dirty connectors.
