Well, last nite when I shutdown, I was pretty confident that I 
had this pmax settled down quite a bit...

Wrong!  Powered up a little while ago, and now get dropped into
single user again...all partitions were clean..but still got dumped
into single user...^D leads to a buss error...and now the thing won't
boot...just tried to get it back to single user and it hangs at

: (1024x768x8)  (console)

nothing more....

any ideas?
