if I tell it vt100 (which I used first) the cursor arrow keys don't 
work in vi...don't work at all!  This is why I had to ftp the rc.conf
file over to another machine to edit it...at first I thought that was
why it was dropping into single-user on every boot...now I know I have
to tell it 'netbsd -a'....oh, the install doc I have (dated 23 March 99)
does not mention that at all...

ok, I'm on the attached DEC keyboard...lets call it the console of the
DECstation..

and, using that 'console' sometimes if I read a man page, something puts
the video in inverse mode..and it won't 'reset'.  Nothing I do at that
point will get it back to 'normal' short of booting the darn thing...
