The only limit (if there is one) is on how big you can make the `a'
partition before it gets too big for the PROM to read in the kernel.
(The bootblocks do their I/O via the PROM driver).

I'm running happily with an IBM OEM drive with a smallish root, var,
and a 3 gig partition for NetBSD builds.
