I just built gimp 1.0.4, and it seems to work. ;-)

I had a terrible time building XEmacs on 1.3, but I was ultimately
able to build it (sort of) by copying in the unexecelf.c from 
regular emacs and then changing the segment from .bss to .sbss.

It still won't run as a stripped executable, though.

I think someone might have merged the fixes into the new source,
but I haven't tried to build it under 1.4.
