The boot blocks end up displaying odd characters on my screen, but can
boot my old kernel on one disk I have.  On the other disk I'm trying
to install 1.4_ALPHA, and it has problems with the kernel, it panics
with:

  panic: uvm_km_suballoc: unable to allocate space in parent map
  halted.

I took a picture of the screen while it was trying to boot, since
I'm unable to type the bizarre characters (although some just look
like splotches).  It's available at

Hints, suggestions?
