Eek!  I missed this somehow.  I gotta go back and look at my stuff;
IIRC, I was creating a second data segment.

Yeah, and that's prolly why I was losing, too ... though that doesn't
preclude the fact that I might've been doing other things wrong, too.

I'm not sure whether I feel better or worse now :-(
