You did the set +m magic, didn't you? (I'm unsure as to the exact letter,
but the one to turn on job control).

Does anyone know why xfs grabs the console? I have a 5000/125 sitting next
to this 8500 which is useless because xfs has grabbed the console and is
spouting gibberish.
