SOLUTION:
	Edit "/etc/rc.conf" and set "rc_configured=YES"
	at the boot prompt type "boot 5/rz1/netbsd -a"


First, I must admit the typo I made. "rc.cofigured" should bave been
"rc_configured".

Second, the configuration file was correctly edited; but since I am 
not familiar with DEC systems, I was not using the "-a" option in my
boot command. I should have been using "boot 5/rz1/netbsd -a".
