Could you try the kernels in
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/ftp/pub/NetBSD/arch/pmax/small-kernel? These are
1.3.1 kernels. There's a stripped and a non-stripped one there - please
try the non-stripped one first. If either of these work, please let me
know. Note these kernels will only work on a 5000/{20,25,33} (but I
haven't got one lying around to test this!).
