Personally, I'd like to see the hooks - it's an occasional source of
*major* irritation when the console reports different device names
than the OS actually uses.

I already rant and rave about seeing "DKB200" devices in the console
mode of my DEC UNIX box; I'd hate to have to rant and rave at NetBSD,
too!  :-)
