What you probably need is a the R5pl26 tree, and then liberally
apply some of the patches found in
ftp://ftp.ntnu.no/store/store/stash/X11/old.ver-5.26/diffs/X11/
You probably want diff-local-5.26 and pmaxnetbsd.diff.
