I don't understand why all of you guys are whistling in the dark like
this.  It's positively trivial to build a version of disklabel on
NetBSD/i386 which will read and write pmax disklabels.  It's only slightly
more difficult to frob the i386 disksubr code in the kernel so you can
even mount filesystems from disks that have Ultrix disklabels on them.

I haven't done it in a few months, but every NetBSD/pmax system I've
ever installed has been done that way.
