I turned a machine back on after a week and it no longer
supped correctly.  I finally tracked it down to an incorrect
netmask (255.255.0.0).  I wasn't explicitly specifying one.

Now my /etc/ifconfig.le0 looks like:

  foo.bar.edu.au up netmask 255.255.255.0

Kernel netmask defaults have been a particular problem for me.
I still don't know why the kernel defaults to 255.255.0.0 during
netboot.
