  It's still working on my 3100.

  I've got a little framebuffer test program I used to test the framebuffer
access on the various machines I have;  it runs through a short cycle of
colors which can be useful in troubleshooting.  [I added the color cycle
when one of the drivers wasn't handling the colors correctly.]
