Subject: NetBSD MIPS R4000 progress - DECstation 5000/50 finally running

After finally getting a Personal DECstation 5000/50 (R4000-based) set up
in my office, I have been working on adding R4000 support to the pmax
port and the common mips tree. I now have a kernel running reliably
enough that I can build a new kernel on it. My 5000/25 (R3000-based)
is also running on a kernel compiled from the same source. At this
stage, the kernel can only be compiled for the R4000 or R2000/R3000. I
do plan on changing this to allow a single kernel to run on either CPU.

I have incorporated Toru Nishimura's in my changes, since the work on
removing the double-mapped kernel stack was quite useful and the
minidebugger was helpful. I haven't completely removed the double-mapped
stack yet: the kernel stack is still using the UADDR address space, but
all the user pcb access is now done through the kernel virtual address
of the user structure.

I still have some stuff that needs to be cleaned up before it's committed
to the -current tree. I also need to test things a bit more.
