Hi !

Machine: Personal DecStation 5000/33 (MAXINE)
                      with NetBSD 1.2 pmax , Kernel-src from
ftp.NetBSD.org (It's real fun to cat all the
                      tiny pieces together to a tar-file !)

I just tried to compile the kernel, to let it get the boot-device at startup.
So i modified the GENERIC conf-file and changed the line
config gennetbsd swap generic
to
config gennetbsd root on rz2a swap on rz2b dumps on rz2b

After about 1 hour compiling i get this error-message:

cc -O2 -Werror -I. -I../../../../arch -I../../../.. -DGENERIC -DCPU_R3000
-DDS5000_25 -DTIMEZONE="0" -DDST="0" -DSWAPPAGER -DVNODEPAGER -DDEVPAGER
-DCOMPAT_43 -DKTRACE -DNKMEMCLUSTERS=1024 -DFIFO -DFFS -DQUOTA -DMFS
-DNFSCLIENT -DNFSSERVER -DKERNFS -DNULLFS -DINET -DTCP_COMPAT_42 -DGATEWAY
-DCOMPAT_11 -DCOMPAT_ULTRIX -DHZ=256 -D_KERNEL -Dpmax -c vers.c
ld -N -Ttext 80030000 -e start -x -o gennetbsd ${SYSTEM_OBJ} vers.o
autoconf.o: In function `configure':
../../../../arch/pmax/pmax/autoconf.c(.text+0x9c): undefined reference to
`setconf'
*** Error code 1

Stop.

Changin back to
config gennetbsd swap generic
lets is compile just fine ...

Does anyone has a similar problem ??

P.S. Can i use the new-config machine-independent SCSI driver for
my machine ?? And how can i do it if it is possible ??
