I've got a DECstation 3100 with 16MB of RAM. I downloaded
the distributions files to my Pentium and built a complete
directory tree for NFS booting. I am able to boot the
nfsnetbsd.ecoff kernel over the net using tftp. About 99%
of the time the system boots to standalone mode. Every so
often it actually boots to multiuser mode. I have no idea
why this happens, but it does. Any ideas?

The next problem I have is I disklabeled my SCSI drive on
the 3100 and copied over the distribution files. I built
a custom kernel, populated /dev, and made the appropriate
changes to the files in /etc. Unfortunately, it hung after
autoconfiguration. Concerned that I made a mistake in
building the kernel, I tried booting the kernel from the
distribution. Here's what I get:

KN01 V6.71

After that the system is locked up.

Any ideas? I'm using a serial console, could that be causing
any problems?
