  I'm sorry I guess I wasn't very clear.  I am currently booting off the 
network.  But I want to boot off of the local disk.  I have disklabeled the 
drive, formated the partitions, untared the file system on to the drive, and
I can mount the partitions.  I have edited all the neccesary files and made
all the devices and compiled a kernel.  I am now trying to boot this kernel
it is on the hard drive and when I type ...

  >> boot 3/rz2/netbsd

  at the boot prompt I get this ...

     3/rz2/netbsd: bad magic 30162
     Can't boot '3/rz2/netbsd'

  I really would apreciate any help.  Thanks.
