[For those who care, I updated my 1.1 libc with the following commands:
mv libc.a libc.a.broken
gcc -c sigsetjmp.S
chmod 644 libc.a
ar ruv libc.a sigsetjmp.o
ranlib libc.a
chmod 444 libc.a
]
Now everything compiles just fine.
