Ok - So I have this completely idle DECstation...(No OS at all)...
Herb was kind enough to give me a rootimage and bootblock, but I can't
seem to get them onto a disk...
The disks are rz23's...Connor manufacture...They don't spin up on power,
but rather, on command. I've tried plugging them into several kinds of
machines...hp433/HP-UX, hp433/NetBSD, Sparc/NetBSD, hp712/HP-UX, etc.
None of them seem to be able to eat this drive. I/O errors, for lack of
spinning up, I assume.
As you can imagine, this is getting a weensy bit frustrating...So, does
anybody know which jumper to frob to get that bloody disk to spin up on
power? This is approaching week 2 of ``Yeah - I'm gonna try and
bootstrap that pmax tonight...''
Thanx...
