I was planning to look at MIPS at some stage (unless someone beats me to
it!) - if the work doesn't appear too hard then I should be able to look
at pc532 after that. That however leads to:

ELF is needed for pthreads support, but not for core SA support.
I got as far as getting an official ns32k ELF machine ID assigned, but
admit that some of my enthusiasm was drowned when I run into the "spill
register" problems with gcc 2.95.3 that I detailed to port-pc532 a
couple of weeks ago...
