Okay, "what at the time I heard commonly spoken of as a floptical".
Yes, I'm talking about the big (six inch?) things that stored about a
quarter gig.

And how things have changed.  At the time that quarter gig was a _lot_
of space.  I knew someone who kept his (not-a-)floptical mounted
routinely in order to have lots of spare space kicking around.
