Hello all,

some info for anyone interested in turbo support:

Tim McIntosh recently modified the NetBSD network booter code to work on
turbo hardware.

However, this did not work for me (no packets seen on the ethernet).
It turned out that this code only works when using TP cabling, but not
with coax.

Further notes for anyone wacky enough to use NeXT hardware as the server:
;-)

- The NeXT (NS3.3) bootpd works fine with the boot PROM, but the NetBSD
booter ignored the reply with the NeXT vendor magic.
I used the ISC dhcpd instead as BOOTP daemon.

- Running tcpdump simultaneously on the server slab during the boot
  process does not work.
The sniffer loses packets, and more importantly, the client times out
while NFS-loading the kernel. (Workaround: Use a faster server or run
the sniffer on another machine. ;-)

Have fun,
Timm
