I thought this was already in a PR, but I just looked and I guess it
isn't.  Something similar was mentioned by deberg, and I used to see
it regularly on a 1.4.1 test machine here (milo.mit.edu).  I haven't
seen it on milo since 1.4.2_ALPHA, which surprised me since I hadn't
taken any action to address it.

Yes, a PR should be filed.
