I have uploaded a 1.4 BETA snapshot for testing.  This
should be the last snapshot before the release.  Even so,
if there are serious bugs, they can still be addressed
between now and Friday.

Please post to the list or drop me a note if you boot it
successfully and everything looks ok.  If there are problems,
then I want to hear about them sooner rather than later.
