Subject: FYI: named (still) fails on macppc

Hi all,

I started running named on my Beige G3, and I couldn't keep it running. I
found this old message (pasted below) relating to the issue. There didn't
seem to be any follow-up to that message at the time. At least, not that I
could find.

If it matters, I'm running NetBSD 3.1.1_PATCH (macppc) with the updated
sources from the BIND security advisory (2007-007) in place.

The issue mentioned below still seems to apply, and the workaround still
works. I personnally chose the inline removal option, which is the easiest
to implement for me.

Hope this helps, and let me know if there's something I missed.

Subject: Workaround: bind9 compiles fine on macppc/NetBSD-2.0_STABLE but
does

Hi all,

I've got exactly the same problem that John Klos reported:

Bind 9.3.0 was running fine on NetBSD-1.6.1-macppc.

Bind 9.3.0 is running here fine on NetBSD-2.0_STABLE-i386.
I found a workaround on the debian mailing list:

As a matter of fact, I suppress the "inline" directives for the
rotate_left() and rotate_right() function in rbt.c and now it works like
a charm.

I don't know who is the bind9 package maintainer nor if it is the proper
way to correct the bug but it works.

Sorry for my english. I hope it helps.
