as a side note - after some reboots (which end in "panic trap" or
similar problematic messages), the iBook looses its "saved" boot
parameters (so that the "flashing question" mark pops up when booting
takes place next time) - could the 2 issues be related? I.e. during
shutdown something somether writes into memory which keeps the iBook's
boot settings (e.g. in some openfirmware thingy) - or am I completely
"out of band" here ? I think I am "out of band" ... and by a long shot
:-)
