I saw this a couple years ago on a PowerMac G4 MDD (the last version
that was made).  it only happened with certain kernel binaries,
and after a few cvs updates it stopped happening altogether.
I guessed it had to do with where certain things ended up in memory,
but I never figured out anything specific before it stopped happening.
