  my mileage is from other machines (laptops and desktops) where=20
I only succeeded by plugging in anything from a headset to a dummy=20
plug or a cable leading to nowhere.

  I'd be glad to hear of a software-only (preferrably OF only)
solution such that rebooting a PowerMac at night time does not
wake up the kids...
