System Profiler. On my Mac mini, one of the lines under "Disc Burning" for 
the Matshita UJ-845 is:

   DVD-Write:	-R, -RW, +R, +RW, +R DL

The "+R DL" means it can burn DVD+R dual layer. Minis are cool.
