This is a problem with the mesh driver, shouldn't have any negative
impact and is almost certainly unrelated to the rest of your problem.

Did you check if /dev/console and friends exist? On the disk, not in
some memory filesystem?
There were a few reports of weird filesystem problems lately, some about
files sometimes not being listed but they were all about -current if I
remember correctly.
