Ron: you're notorious for your cryptic communications... In this instance, 
you communicated barely enough, but it's all in the subject line.

So you have a CPU upgrade which plugs in to the motherboard cache slot, 
right? And it has its own L2 cache on it.

First - when the L2 cache CPU is plugged in, it's always the active CPU. 
So there's nothing you have to do there.

Second - to enable the L2 cache, you need to know how fast it is relative 
to the CPU's speed. Michael's example is a good one, and you should be 
able to get a few ideas from Google about all of the specs of the 
accelerator.
