2.0.2 is a bugfix release, it won't get many new features over 2.0.

The Rage L series is problematic anyway, but since ATI doesn't release
documentation, doesn't answer mails and ignored any attempt I made to
register as developer I fear I can't do much about that. Your graphics
chip should get at least recognized by XFree's atimisc driver, I have no
idea why it isn't.=20
You can try to run Xmacppc instead of XFree86, this would at least give
you X although unaccelerated and 8bit only. Still beats no X at all I
guess.
