Does ofwboot.xcf (1.10) that comes with NetBSD 3.99.3 (sources from 29
Apr) not support booting from FFSv2 file systems at all?

I had some problems when trying to boot from the disk after
installation on a PowerBook G4: ofwboot did not find the kernel no
matter what I tried. The problem seems to be that I was using a
FFSv2 file system. When I reinstalled on a FFSv1 file system,
everything went smoothly.

(I am just curious -- I am happy with FFSv1. And sorry if this is
already explained somewhere.)
