Yes. I just tried it with the kernel from:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.6.2/macppc/binary/sets/kern-GENERIC.tgz
It behaves the same. Pings 10.00x ms on the nose. <.20 ms with the
CPU burner running.
My source tree is only syssrc.tgz, and only to build the kernel.
I'm using the source in:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.6.2/source/sets/syssrc.tgz
