Hello,

I've been hacking my console drivers again and need some testers. If
you run NetBSD 2.x on a Mac with a Voodoo3 or an ATi Mach64-based video
controller ( such as the Rage I, II, 3D and probably others, Rage 128
is something else and the LT is known to have problems ) as console
please try this kernel:
http://macallan.homeunix.org:6704/stuff/BSD/netbsd_GENERIC_fb_02_13.bz2
It should run on any Mac supported by NetBSD but it has only the two
console drivers mentioned above. Both drivers support:
- - acceleration. The blitter is used for everything by machfb, voodoofb
still draws characters in software but does everything else in
hardware.
- - virtual consoles. Add wscons=yes to rc.conf and some additional
gettys to /etc/ttys, switch with Command-(F1...F9)
- - when XFree exits the console is properly restored

have fun
Michael
