okay, assuming this i'd recommend (even if Mac OS X and/or Mac OS 9 run 
stable [call 9 stable :D]) to troubleshoot your RAM... yes. try 
installing it with only one stick built in (64MByte are okay).

maybe a clue. remember, these boxen don't have ECC (something Apple 
recently added to the Xserver -- hooray!).
