hi,

i have several G3s (all 400/b&w) running NetBSD 1.6.2 up to -current -- 
never run into an issue you told about...

most of my G3s have standard config + lots of RAM ;), but two have 
radeons in them. never had any trouble.

do you have additional cards installed or devices attached to it via 
USB (e.g.)? did you try to strip the machine down to it's standard 
config (except ram and hd)?
