I saw an almost identical problem under NetBSD-1.6 on an i386 machine
(Athlon XP 1400+). I had two 80GB ATA/100 Western Digital drives
installed, and an (unused) Adaptec PCI ATA/133 controller. I bought a
new 160 GB ATA/133 drive, plugged it into the card, and then started
seeing exactly those messages. I wasn't sure what the problem was,
moved stuff around, etc. Finally removed the drive and it works now.

The strange thing was that I saw those errors on various different
drives, some of which were not plugged into the ATA/133 card, some
which were. Intitally, it seemed like my root filesystem was corrupt,
but finally, it seemed like the 160 GB drive was to blame (it fails on
my OS X machine with a similar error). My CD-ROM is now plugged into
that ATA/133 card with no problems.

I wasn't really sure how to send-pr, and was even less sure if this was
a known error or not.
