FYI, The FreeBSD people made a HFS and HFS+ package. It contains
newfs_hfs, mount_hfs, fsck_hfs, and of course, a kernel module.

If anyone is interested into working on integrating this in NetBSD, here
is the project status page: http://people.freebsd.org/~yar/hfs/

NB: it is derived from Darwin, in APSL licnese.
