I've been using unionfs for a while now, and haven't ever had problems
like this though... my alpha and i386 systems are fine. I do often get
"panic: insmntque into dying filesystem" when rebooting
<http://www.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/query-pr-single.pl?number=9167>, but
nothing like what I'm seeing on macppc.
