I've finally hooked up a serial console to my 9600MP. I can printenv
and all that good stuff using the serial console, but when I try to
boot, it just hangs. So as Dan suggests, the problem that I am
encountering must be somewhere else. I've got real-base and load-base
set as follows:

  real-base F00000 -1
  load-base 600000 4000

The drive in the machine was lifted from my (working) 7300. I wonder
whether I have somehow connected things incorrectly. Is it possible
to tell from open firmware whether there is a drive at id 0?

I've also tried booting from a 1.6 install CD, with the following
command, which I think should work given my experience with the 7300:

  boot scsi-int/sd@3:0 NETBSD.MACPPC

This hangs, too. So maybe the scsi bus is not working? But the
machine runs MacOS fine!

Any ideas about how to get past this point are most welcome. I'm
itching to try out the SMP support in -current on this box.
