First, the drives configure themselves however they like. So I do not know
if the write-back cache is off or on, nor would I know how to check or how
to change it. I've never heard of a write-back cache being a selectable
option on a SCSI drive. Now if you were talking about tagged queueing,
that'd be different.

But what is wrong with Adaptec cards on non-i386 systems that something on
the drives would need to be changed to avoid problems? This would still be
a bug, and therefore should be reported. I just wanted to see if the
problem happens at all elsewhere before I file a PR.

Tell me a little more about what you know about the write-back cache,
please...

Thanks,
John Klos
