Also, for what it's worth, once I found a good floppy (without any
bad sectors!), I was able to install successfully on the Performa,
using the default CD-ROM settings for the CD-R.  I have three
supported macppc platforms running NetBSD now--each with its own
OFW quirks...  :-P I found that the serial console was wedging
_very_ easily on this system.  I use my modified 8500 with a serial
console and I've seen it wedge, but not as quickly as the Performa
did (actually, come to think of it, it was OK with sysinst, but
the GENERIC kernel was wedging more easily).

Note that the CD that Luke created here is missing the X sets.
