I've been fighting very hard the last week to get NetBSD 1.5.3 running on my Apple Network Server (ANS) 700. I got it installed (which was tough by itself) but:
I can't use the build in ethernet mc0. There's some problem with it, so people suggest not using it.
The ethernet cards supplied from Apple are supposed to work using the tlp(4) driver, but after I compiled the kernel, the system hang when I do a 'ifconfig tlp0' (I get 'tlpanic: tlp_2114x_isv_tmsw_get').
I havn't really tried to play around with the RAID card, yet. But that card is one of the reasons I'm interested in getting some OS running on the machine.
Can anybody help me, please? Otherwise I'll have to run Linux :(
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
