I am once again considering upgrading to DSL (or maybe Cable Modem).
Because it's hard to run cables from the old part of the house (where
the utilities come in) to the new part (where the computers are) I'm
thinking of getting a box that ties directly between the DSL/Cable
and 802.11.
Presuming I'm not dreaming about such boxes does anyone have any
recommendations? Any that use NetBSD in their guts? Any that are
better than others? Have better security? Uses less power?
For the other computers I want to support: 1) a TiBook with OSX
(presume no problem, but does macppc support the Airport if I boot it
into NetBSD yet?), 2) a 7500 in NetBSD (and maybe OSX or Darwin), 3)
an 8500 in MacOS 9.1, and 4) a P133 in NetBSD. I'm flexible about
NetBSD versions. Is there a single PCI card that works in all those
environments?
