I had to incorporate some of Charles Hannum's patches
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-macppc/2001/09/30/0000.html
to get it working. Some of them got already imported, yet.
I also had to compile xkbcomp only with -O optimization; otherwise
dumps core...
If you like I can provide you my XFree86 binary (4.2.0) which is
currently running on my tibook.
