hi all,
I've recently acquired a PowerMac 8500 that I'd like to get NetBSD up
and running on (and so recently joined the list). the configuration is
- 120mhz PPC 604, 96mb RAM
- one 1.2g HD with MacOS 8.6, one small HFS partition with system folder,
and a larger HFS+ partition for data - currently SCSI 0
- another, 2gb HD for installing NetBSD onto (it has MacOS 8.6 on it but
no data)
- two 2-port PCI USB cards, unknown brand, in first two PCI slots
- stock internal CDROM
- no floppy drive - the guy I got it from installed an internal Zip drive
in the floppy bay
will this machine boot from an install CD? I have a spare floppy drive I
can put in the machine if I have to, but I'd really rather boot from CD
if possible.
thanks in advance,
