Hi folks,
I want to install NetBSD on an external SCSI drive on a G3 rev. A.
The SCSI drive should be shared with my MacOS partitions (a 10 GB
HFS+ and a 3+ GB HFS). I downloaded the 1.5.2 CD image and burnt it
(btw, I burnt it to a CD/RW and OF accepted to load it at the second
attempt from the SCSI disk burner, the installation doc says it
should be a CD-R).
According to the installation doc, I have to go to utility in the
installation menu, choose /bin/sh and do disklabel there which shall
see my partitions.
pdisk (under MacOS) says my partition map is the following:
Partition map (with 512 byte blocks) on '/dev/scsi0.0' (/dev/sda)
#: type name length base ( size )
1: Apple_partition_map Apple 100 @ 1
2: FWB Driver Components FWB Driver Components 1024 @ 101
3: Apple_Driver43*FWB Disk Driver 76 @ 1125
4: Apple_UNIX_SVR2 A/UX Root 5242880 @ 1201 ( 2.5G)
5: Apple_UNIX_SVR2 Swap 524288 @ 5244081 (256.0M)
6: Apple_UNIX_SVR2 Home 2097152 @ 5768369 ( 1.0G)
7: Apple_HFS MacOS 6815744 @ 7865521 ( 3.3G)
8: Apple_HFS MacOS 21080445 @ 14681265 ( 10.1G)
Device block size=512, Number of Blocks=35761710 (17.1G)
DeviceType=0x0, DeviceId=0x0
Drivers-
1: @ 1125 for 76, type=0x1
disklabel only saw that:
5 partitions
# size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg/sgs]
a: 6815744 7865521 HFS # (Cyl. 2192*- 4091*)
b: 21080445 14681265 HFS # (Cyl. 4091*- 9967*)
c: 35761710 0 unused 0 0 # (Cyl. 0*- 9967*)
d: 21080445 14681265 HFS # (Cyl. 4091*- 9967*)
e: 21080445 14681265 HFS # (Cyl. 4091*- 9967*)
disklabel: boot block size 0
disklabel: super block size 0
What did I do wrong? What shall the name of the partitions be in
order for disklabel to see them?
Paul
